Hold Businesses Accountable for Climate Damage

The products we love – tea, coffee, chocolate, bananas – are under threat.

Across the world, the people who grow the products we love are already facing the worst impacts of our rapidly changing climate – from extreme heat to floods – despite doing the least to cause it.

Cocoa prices are constantly unstable, leaving the people who grow it unable to plan for their future, while half of young Kenyan tea workers said climate change is their biggest challenge.

The people behind our food, drink and clothing shouldn’t be left to face this crisis alone. Some companies are already trying to do the right thing, but over 70% of people in the UK think businesses should be doing more to prevent environmental harm in their supply chains.

That’s why Fairtrade is calling for a new law to hold all businesses accountable for any environmental damage behind their products.
