The UK government has been considering a new law that would require big companies to take responsibility for people and planet. This law would help tackle issues such as low pay, forest loss, and unsafe working conditions.
But with a new Prime Minister in place, progress could stall or disappear from the government's agenda altogether. Challenges will only grow if action isn’t taken. The climate crisis is already making it harder for farmers to grow crops, while workers continue to earn too little to support their families. Without stronger rules for business, many of the people behind our food and drink will be left to bear the cost.
